Reinsurance

With 25 years’ experience in the insurance sector, my career spans broking, underwriting and launching an insurtech, Kinsu, in 2017. I am the former Managing Director of Hiscox London Market. Having joined Hiscox in 1997 as a reinsurance underwriter, I spent my next 16 years in senior positions, including Active Underwriter for Syndicate 33. Before my time at Hiscox, I was a reinsurance broker at Greig Fester. Since 2015, I have served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of RenaissanceRe Syndicate Management. Previously, I was also Chair of the LMA’s Reinsurance Business Panel and served on the Non-Marine Committee.

I am a Treaty Underwriter in the Reinsurance team, which provides lead capacity to Property and Specialty businesses worldwide. I have particular focus on the International Property and Specialty portfolios. My outside interests include tennis, tai chi, yoga, and playing classical and acoustic guitar.

I am a member of the Reinsurance leadership group, and involved in the underwriting and management of our property treaty account. Our particular emphasis is on business emanating from both the US and Caribbean regions. Outside of reinsurance, I harbour a ludicrous aspiration to open my own restaurant.

I am one of the underwriters in the reinsurance team. In addition to my underwriting role, I run our Insight team. I’m interested in how we can use data science, earth science and technology to improve our products. When I can, I like to get outside on skis, paddleboards or bicycles.

As a Reinsurance Underwriter, I analyse, price and negotiate terms and conditions on Property Treaty business, with a particular focus on North America. Having begun my career as an Actuary, I also assist with the building and development of our in-house reinsurance pricing tools. Away from work, I enjoy watching and playing sports, and currently play netball for my local team. I’m also interested in architecture and love exploring new cities around the world.

As an Underwriter on our Reinsurance team, I focus on International Property and Specialty lines. Before joining Inigo, I worked on the Broking side and use this experience to help us better understand our clients’ and brokers’ needs, and ensure we provide a high-quality service. Outside work, I love travelling and immersing myself in different cultures. I spent three years living in Sapporo, Japan where I learnt a great deal, including learning to speak Japanese.

As an assistant underwriter on our reinsurance team, I focus on international property lines. Prior to working at Inigo, I studied International Relations at the University of St Andrews. Away from work, in the winter months you’ll find me skiing and in the summer months on the cricket field. 

I am an Assistant Underwriter in the Reinsurance Team and I focus on International Property Treaty. My main responsibilities include analysing accounts and providing support to ensure we provide a high-quality service to our clients and brokers. My previous roles were in Catastrophe Modelling, and I use this experience to help assess the underlying risks. Outside of work I enjoy trying new recipes and dancing, sometimes I combine the two and dance in the kitchen.

As Head of Inigo’s claims department, I am responsible for all classes of business. I bring 30+ years of insurance claims experience to Inigo and was formerly AIG’s Chief Claims Officer, International responsible for management of all Commercial & Personal Lines claims across the International & Speciality Divisions. I specialise in Property & Energy claims as well as Catastrophe response and will also oversee all inwards/ceded Reinsurance claims at Inigo. I have been at Inigo since the start joining in December 2020 and I sit on the Inigo Executive Committee.

I joined Inigo in November 2023 bringing more than 20 year’s experience in the Lloyds claims market. I have in recent years held senior claims roles at Ki/Brit, Pioneer and Arch with a strong focus on all 1st party classes. I am proud to work with underwriters who see the claims value proposition in order to retain and grow their wider business. I am also keen to promote the claims function of a syndicate as a great career choice to younger entrants to the London insurance market. In my spare time I like to watch most sports (Tottenham Hotspur when they win) and get on my Peloton for a workout at every opportunity.

I am Inigo’s Reinsurance Claims Analyst, responsible for handling complex International Property and Specialty Claims including Large Catastrophe losses. Regularly analysing, interpreting and reporting loss data, I liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to strive for accurate reserving, efficient delivery and an excellent service for clients. I am proactively building my network in the market and increasing my technical knowledge through the LMA and CII. I am also proud to sit on the Wellbeing comittee for Inigo. Outside of work, I enjoy stand-up comedy, watching sport and trying to keep various house plants alive.
